Convict Escapades Audition Notice

Auditions are now closed.

Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime immersive theatre opportunity for aspiring actors aged 14–18 years.

Could you be a convincing convict?

Action Atelier is looking for at least ten teenage actors to play characters in Convict Escapades, an interactive theatre experience for families with children aged 6–12 years.

Convict Escapades is a four-day event which will be held in April at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Hyde Park Barracks Museum. Working with one of the country’s leading Youth Theatre directors, Danielle O’Keefe, participants will have the opportunity to create a convict character, rehearse scenes and participate in a production with a cast of six professional actors.

Convict Escapades will challenge visitors to complete a convict quest, along the way coming face-to-face with colourful convict characters. As part of the audience experience, there will also be fun activities such as craft, sea-shanty singing and ‘tattooing’.
