Italiani di Sydney

There is much more to Sydney Italian lifestyles than Leichhardt.

Italiani di Sydney embraced the diversity of individual Italian voices, telling stories that could be recognised and identified, stories about the importance of food, religion, sport, style, architecture, work and travel. The exhibition showcased 200 objects including everyday items, photographs, films and contemporary art.

The histories and voices in the exhibition represented Italians who drink coffee, eat pasta and pray to the Virgin Mary and Italians who don’t! Italiani di Sydney was a discovery of the social, geographical and cultural diversity of what it is to be Italian in Sydney today.
