Meroogal Women's Arts Prize 2009

The Meroogal Women's Arts Prize is open to all women living on the South Coast and Southern Highlands. Entries are accepted in any artistic medium. The prize encourages artists to explore traditional crafting practices in a contemporary context. This practice helps foster traditional female skills that were cherished and valued by the four generations of Meroogal women. This year's theme, 'Books and the world of ideas', inspired a diverse range of entries, from mixed media installations, embroidery, collage and video to painting, drawing and sculpture.
