Spare room

Spare Room is a response by three Sydney artists to the history of collecting in Australia and the daily lives and spaces of those who produced it.

Elizabeth Bay House is a site of colonial power, home of the influential Macleay family, a container for scientific collections and intangible cultural heritage. It is also a museum that has become a significant site of inspiration for artists who see the legacy of history in contemporary life.
