The Sydney Living Museums Foundation exists to support the heritage values and ongoing conservation of 12 of Australia’s most significant historic properties. The support of our donors ensures our longevity by enabling public access to these properties, their ongoing conservation, and the acquisition of relevant collection items.

More about the Foundation

Governors’ Circle

Our Governors are the lifeblood of the Foundation. Their generous and sustained support allows Sydney Living Museums to take on projects that simply wouldn’t otherwise be feasible. As we receive no direct funding for acquisitions in particular, our Governors are vitally important if we are to grow our collections and continue our extensive exhibition, acquisition and education programs.

Sydney's Story

Home to the Eora people, convicts, dynasties of influence, fortune seekers and gold dust. Ours are the stories of contact, the beginnings of industry, the first constitution and the arrival of international modernism.

We are Sydney’s story.

Precious and Irreplaceable

At the heart of Sydney Living Museums are twelve outstanding buildings that are highly significant and unique. And within those buildings lie a rich collection of personal objects, images, furnishings and documents. They represent what we built, who we were and how we lived.

We are precious and irreplacable.

Custodians of the Future

Every day we work to educate the next generation; enable our audiences to experience a whole other life; and share our knowledge.

We are custodians of the future.
