A Perfect Night of Mayhem

A huge thanks to everyone who swung by the Justice & Police Museum for a night of Mayhem.

Over 300 punters, performers, scarlets and pimps, unleashed their dark side in our sly-grog den on Friday 2 May. A mixed audience came from all walks of life in Sydney to partake in this special, one-night-only event which captured the spirit of the City of Shadows exhibition on now at the Justice & Police Museum.

Many pitted their wits against the card shark, spent time in the cells with a fellow inmate, braved the interrogation room with detective’s hell bent on getting their confession and marveled at the courtroom sketch artists.

On the main stage, Spyglass Gypsies delighted audiences with their Hot Club groove and infamous showgirl Bunni Lambada charmed audiences with her feisty performances.

Guests shot silent films, designed custom tattoos, had their mug shot taken in the holding cage and crafted headlines for the front page of a crime-zine.

It truly was a night of dangerous glamour and wicked indulgence fuelled by Bulleit Bourbon, supper by Urban Pasta and Uber taxis on hand to whisk people away safely from the ball.

We tip our hats to our event partners, The Festivalists, and SLM staff who brought the night to life. Imagery from the night was shot by James Horan for Sydney Living Museums and many more from revelers using the #MayhemSydney tag.
