A lick of paint!
What sounds like a simple task actually involves: washing and scraping, raking out cracks, sealing patches before double skimming and filling, then sanding and re-sealing – phew!
The ceiling will have two coats of distemper applied, the walls two coats of flat acrylic, and two coats of semi-gloss enamel will be applied to all the woodwork.
The room will be stripped of its furniture while the room is being painted and the area will be closed to the public from Tuesday 10 June to Sunday 29 June.
You can visit Vaucluse House at the end of June to see a freshly presented Principal Bedroom. In the meantime, we'll be updating you on the progress of the painting work with photos on this page.
