Family fun for everyone at Vaucluse House

Vaucluse House has seen many weddings in its time, but these school holidays have introduced a bridal pair of a different sort: a felt flapper and her fellow.

This charming finger-puppet couple (above) were created in our school holiday drop-in craft activity, Make & Take: Puppets. Running from 11am to 2pm from Tuesday 7 July to Thursday 9th July, this activity allows families to draw on the characters of the past for inspiration to make their own finger puppets to take home.

For little gardeners or foodies, Vaucluse House is also offering From Farmyard to Table, a family-oriented focus tour which includes meeting the Vaucluse House menagerie of ducks, chickens and goats, sampling our very own Vaucluse House honey, Wentworth’s Gold, and investigating the purpose of some mysterious items in our colonial kitchen. From Farmyard to Table will run at 11am, 1pm and 3pm every day until Sunday 12 July, and is included in the price of museum entry.

So whether you’re interested in crafting complex characters or foodie farmyard foraging, or you are just looking for an exciting and engaging day out with the family these holidays, Vaucluse House has family fun for everyone
