Join writer, blogger and author of Mirror Sydney, Vanessa Berry for an Underworld-inspired zinemaking workshop.

Spend an afternoon getting creative with typewriters, scissors and images to create your own take home crime zine. Be inspired by the captivating exhibition, discovering the bosses, bruisers, plotters and petty crims of Sydney's seedy underworld. 

All materials provided. No prior experience necessary. 

Ages 16+

Workshop includes:

  • A brief 15 minute tour of the Underworld exhibition led by a Sydney Living Museum representative. 
  • 2 hour + workshop delivered by Vanessa Berry with all materials provided.
  • Your own crimezine to take home. 

What is a zine?

A zine is generally a small circulation, self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images. Zines are made using a variety of techniques, come in a range of different formats and cover broad subject areas. Due to the independent nature of zines, they are often reproduced using a photocopier.
