Exhibition Floor Talks: Underworld

Descend into Sydney’s underworld with monthly floor talks delivered by our curatorial and exhibition teams.

In honour of International Women’s Day curator Nerida Campbell will tell tales of freedom-loving flappers and other women who defied societal pressure to behave like a ‘lady’.

Sun 15 April 2pm–2.45pm

The trauma and horror of war changed soldiers – in some cases from upstanding citizens to petty criminals. Join curator Nerida Campbell to hear the stories behind the mugshots of the ANZACs.

Sun 13 May 2pm–2.45pm

Celebrate Mother’s Day Underworld style with curator Nerida Campbell who will share stories of Mums whose mugshots appear in the exhibition including crime boss Kate Leigh, escapologist Ettie Benn and a handful of other shady ladies.
