Food & Words 2018

Sydney’s food writers’ festival Food & Words brings chefs, writers and academics with an interest in food and gastronomy together for a day of books, ideas and food.

Hear about cooking with fire from maestro Lennox Hastie, author of Finding Fire and chef at Sydney’s Firedoor, the ‘new agriculture’ from Merino sheep farmer Charles Massey, author of Call of the Reed Warbler, and gain insider tips from Sydney’s leading baker and first-time author Nadine Ingram of Flour and Stone.

History buffs will enjoy hearing about serviette folding and Bert Hinkler’s whisky, shipboard menus and state dinners from the Head of Collections & Access at Sydney Living Museums Megan Martin.

Other speakers include historian Barbara Santich, permaculture educators Kirsten Bradley and Nick Ritar from Milkwood, journalist Gabrielle Chan and photographer and author duo Ross Dobson and Rachel Tolosa Paz, whose latest book explores the food of Argentina.

Tickets include lunch and wine, morning and afternoon tea, all-day tea and coffee and a gift.
