NAIDOC: because of her, we can!

Celebrate NAIDOC Week at Rouse Hill House & Farm with Darug Elders and the local community, at this event held in partnership with Muru Mittigar Aboriginal Cultural and Education Centre.

Join us at the start of the day with a Welcome to Country by Leanne Watson and Rhiannon Wright and a Smoking Ceremony by Nulungu Dreaming. Then help raise the Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australian flags to open the event.

Take part in a range of family-friendly activities throughout the day:

  • Listen to performances by award-winning poet, singer and dancer Gumaroy Newman.
  • Try your hand at the ancient art of boomerang throwing and paint one to take home.
  • Participate in one of our popular Darug language works held in the unique setting of the 1888 Rouse Hill school house.
  • Step inside the historic homestead on one of our house tours.

Food will be available on the day from Mad Mob and the Muru Mittigar Café.
