NAIDOC Week 2021 at Rouse Hill Estate

In light of further COVID restrictions announced by the NSW Government, Sydney Living Museums is cancelling the NAIDOC Week event at Rouse Hill Estate, scheduled for Sunday 11 July.

Celebrate NAIDOC Week with us on Darug Country at Rouse Hill Estate with this year’s theme, ‘Heal Country!’ Join us for festivities throughout the day and connect with Aboriginal culture, past and present, through activities including performances, storytelling and art.

NAIDOC Week is celebrated by Australians from all walks of life. It’s a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and get to know and support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

Start the day with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony with Nulungu Dreaming.

Take part in a range of family-friendly activities throughout the day.

Please note: this event takes place mostly outdoors. We'll continue to monitor the latest NSW Public Health advice. Please read our COVID-19 conditions of entry before registering and check back for updates. We'll also be posting event updates on this webpage and Facebook event page.

Budjari Naami Darug Nurawa. Good to see you on Darug Country.
Our museums and places are on Aboriginal land. As we walk together and tread gently on this country we acknowledge the Darug people, the traditional custodians, and pay respect to the Elders, past and present, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Aboriginal people have a deep and continuing cultural attachment to this country and are the rightful interpreters of their history and heritage.
We acknowledge the impact Rouse Hill Estate has had on Aboriginal Country and that this impact continues to be felt today. Was, is, and always will be Aboriginal land.
