Join Penelope Seidler AM in conversation about her life, art and architecture, followed by a tour of the exhibition Harry Seidler: Painting Toward Architecture led by curator Dr Caroline Butler-Bowdon.

Penelope Seidler AM is an accomplished architect and one of Australia’s most significant patrons of the arts. In discussion with Sydney Living Museums’ Head of Programs, Dr Sophie Lieberman, Penelope will share her personal experiences as Harry Seidler’s most important creative collaborator. She will also reflect on art and architecture.

Bonus: guided exhibition tour

Following this intimate talk, curator Dr Caroline Butler-Bowdon will lead a guided tour of the Museum of Sydney’s blockbuster exhibition Harry Seidler: Painting Toward Architecture, which illuminates the acclaimed designs and long-lasting collaborations Harry Seidler forged with the great names in art, architecture, design and engineering, including visionaries Frank Stella, Marcel Breuer, Josef Albers, Pier Luigi Nervi, Alexander Calder, Max Dupain and Lin Utzon. This is the first major exhibition on the distinguished architect to showcase items from the Seidlers’ private collection of paintings, sculpture, films, sketches, original plans, personal photography and correspondence, many of them never before seen by the public.

This event is a ‘must-see’ for architects, art and design enthusiasts and story lovers everywhere.
