Vaucluse House open day: Tour of the Wentworth Mausoleum

On the day that we celebrate 100 years of Vaucluse House as a museum and plan for its future, learn about the death and funeral of William Charles Wentworth, the house's most famous resident.

Join this tour to the Mausoleum where Wentworth was buried having been given the honour of the first State Funeral in New South Wales. Hear about how his body was shipped from England where he died, and the unprecedented funeral procession that led to his final resting place within his estate at Vaucluse House.

Tour duration approximately 45 minutes.

Meeting point is the main marquee, on the Lone Pine Lawn.

Bookings essential.

This tour is running as part of the Vaucluse House Centenary Open Day.

Also running on the day is the Vaucluse House estate tour.
