Once the subject of competitive exploration and territorial dispute, Antarctica is today a model of global cooperation.

This display of contemporary photography of the Antarctic complemented the Dumont d’Urville exhibition. Sweeping panoramas evoked the vast isolation of the frozen continent, while other images dwelled on the impact of ongoing human presence in the region.
