Broadcasting in Sydney: images from ABC archives

For 75 years, since its inauguration on 1 July 1932, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation has produced innovative and diverse programming that has educated, influenced and documented the lives of Australians.

Sydney has been the headquarters of the ABC for all those years, and the city has provided a stunning backdrop and stage for many memorable radio and television broadcasts.

This small photographic display developed in collaboration with the ABC and through access to ABC Archives turned the camera lens on the national broadcaster and its history of reporting, dramatising and documenting Sydney events, people and places.
