Cabinet of curiosities

Alexander Macleay’s insect collection embodied the collecting and classifying mania that grew out of the 18th century Enlightenment.

Inspired by this collection, now held by the Macleay Museum, Sydney, photographer Robyn Stacey created a series of photographic montages of breathtaking beauty.
