Law and order: regional police and court buildings 1850-1920

This exhibition featured images of police and court buildings and their surrounds and traces the expansion of settlement from the 1850s and the towns that sprang up following gold, timber and mining booms.

Law & Order Curator from the Justice and Police Museum, Nerida Campbell says the exhibition draws on the extensive photographic collection held by Sydney’s Justice & Police Museum and will interest those with a passion for family, local, social and architectural history.

The exhibition includes an interactive database that allows people to research places, dates or architects from scans of 700 images and entries on townships and buildings.
