Within Sydney’s newest commercial precinct of Barangaroo, Tower Two, International Towers, is the middle of three towers designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.

A hybrid of world-leading sustainability and workplace design, Tower Two innovates with: high-performance solar shading facades; improved indoor air quality with 100 per cent fresh air during business hours; and ‘vertical villages’ – a series of flexible, airy and connected spaces between levels designed to encourage a sense of community within the building.

The curved facades are designed to break the ‘corner office hierarchy’, ensuring natural light and water views for as many occupants as possible. They also reflect the site’s fluid natural geology – International Towers are set within what will soon be a 2-kilometre public walkway along Sydney Harbour’s western foreshore, part of Barangaroo’s 22 hectares of public waterside parklands.

Barangaroo aims to be the first climate-positive precinct of this size in the world, and Australia’s first large-scale carbon-neutral CBD precinct. As key players in this ambition, International Towers are among the most advanced buildings in the country, with the largest private installation of solar panels in Australia and engineered to become water positive and hold a zero landfill status by 2020.

Fittingly, Two International Towers is home to a host of progressive organisations including Westpac Group divisions; St. George Banking Group; BT Financial Group; 2016 law firm of the year, Gilbert + Tobin; and leading global reinsurers Swiss Re. With their move to Barangaroo, each is staking a claim as both market leaders and workplace innovators. Westpac’s fitout is by Geyer; SwissRe workplace is by HASSELL; and Gilbert + Tobin used Woods Bagot (who also designed the lobby of Two International Towers).

On the day of Sydney Open you’ll hear talks from Two International Towers’ leading architect, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners; Geyer, and HASSELL; gain exclusive access to the first tenancies within Tower Two, Gilbert + Tobin and Swiss Re; and gain a rare glimpse of the Skyrise top floor, level 41.

With 6 Star Green Star Office Design, as well as WELL core and shell certification, Barangaroo is one of only 18 projects globally to be part of the C40 Cities-Clinton Climate Initiatives Climate Positive Development Program. It is Australia’s first large-scale carbon-neutral community and produces zero net operational carbon emissions.
