Teacher preview event: Hyde Park Barracks
When & Where
The story of the Hyde Park Barracks and the learning offer available onsite draws together threads of convict life, Aboriginal resilience and immigration, telling the stories of the NSW colony’s beginnings and growth over the 18th and 19th centuries.
Delivered by expert museum educators, this event will explore engaging activities developed for teaching historical inquiry skills and concepts from the new K–10 History syllabus at the new Hyde Park Barracks.
Refreshments and entry to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Hyde Park Barracks are included.
Completing each course in the Sydney Living Museums Teaching History in the primary classroom program will contribute 5 hours of QTC Registered PD, addressing 2.1.2, 3.4.2 and 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
