We invite teachers to a special FREE event at the newly refurbished Hyde Park Barracks.

The story of the Hyde Park Barracks and the learning offer available onsite draws together threads of convict life, Aboriginal resilience and immigration, telling the stories of the NSW colony’s beginnings and growth over the 18th and 19th centuries.

Delivered by expert museum educators, this event will explore engaging activities developed for teaching historical inquiry skills and concepts from the new K–10 History syllabus at the new Hyde Park Barracks.

Refreshments and entry to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Hyde Park Barracks are included.

This event provides one hour of NESA QTC Registered PD addressing Standards 2.1.2, 3.4.2 and 6.2.2 for teachers accredited at Proficient Teacher level.

Completing each course in the Sydney Living Museums Teaching History in the primary classroom program will contribute 5 hours of QTC Registered PD, addressing 2.1.2, 3.4.2 and 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
