Pop-up cities workshop

with James Gulliver Hancock

Join us this school holidays for a fun-filled workshop with illustrator James Gulliver Hancock.

Kids will create their very own pop-up artwork inspired by the exhibition 'How Cities Work' using cardboard, paper, glue and coloured pencils. James will demonstrate simple techniques that will turn seemingly ordinary materials into an imaginative artwork.

Ages 5+

Information for workshop attendees

  • Your workshop time can be found on your ticket, emailed to you at the time of booking.
  • For inspiration, we encourage you to view the exhibition How Cities Work before the workshop begins. The museum is open from 10am-5pm.
  • All materials are included for the workshop, so you’ll just need a water bottle. Bags can be cloaked at the museum's front desk.

About James

James Gulliver Hancock’s obsession with drawing has led him around the world to capture buildings in New York, London, and closer to home in Sydney and Melbourne. With a pencil always in hand, he reimagines cities, their buildings and people through his offbeat lens.
