Paper & Clay: impressions of the past

An exhibition of works on paper and ceramics by Northside Print and Ceramic Artists is currently on display in the Members Lounge at The Mint. Northside Print makers, a group of 11 print artists together with 4 invited ceramics artists have created works based on each artist’s own interpretations of place and identity responding to historical, social, cultural and environmental aspects of particular HHT properties.

The print artists have chosen a variety of mediums to express themselves including etchings, woodcuts, lithographs and solar prints. The ceramics artists have used individual approaches, displaying unique surface treatments and finishes, to echo their interpretations.

The group, including the ceramic artists comprises a broad range of ages and creative backgrounds who meet regularly to work at the Fine Arts and Ceramics studios of Hornsby TAFE, and includes teachers, advanced students and professional artists, all with a strong interest in promoting a variety of printmaking and ceramics media and methods.
