Chris McDiven AM

Chris was appointed as a Director of the Sydney Living Museums Foundation in May 2019, having been appointed as a member of the Sydney Living Museums Trust in January 2018.

Chris is a qualified primary school teacher with experience in both schools and teacher training colleges. Maintaining her strong interest in education she was the chair of the Kambala School Council (Rose Bay, NSW) for over ten years.

Being a strong advocate for life-long education, she is passionate about the role SLM can play in educating children and adults alike in the stories, heritage and history of the properties and exhibitions within them, and in doing so bring the history of Sydney alive.

She has been a director of several other not-for-profit foundations including Kambala School Foundation, The Australian Sports Foundation and the National Foundation of Australian Women. Currently she is the Chair of the Together for Humanity Foundation. In addition, she chaired the Powerhouse Museum Fundraising Committee for five years, and has been a Board member of the Rotary Club of Sydney for many years.

With a strong interest in social history, her background in education, and experience of working with foundations, Chris is looking forward to assisting the Foundation in any way she can.
